I'm not familiar with that project, but U of L made a huge mistake by using the Reynolds Building (which is U of L owned) for overpriced condos instead of student housing... then they turned around and want to build student housing at 7th & Shipp Ave????

BTW, I looked at Reynolds Loft's site and only 15 of their condos have sold yet after 2 years on the market

One of the largest construction projects in U of L history has began. It is a massive student housing development on a 55 acre site just West of the Belknap Campus that is scheduled to house 1,500 students by Fall 2009 and 5,000 by 2015.

This project is just one block from the ongoing Honors Hall project, which will house 50 single mother with children and 150 traditional students. It will be completed be Spring 2009

In that photo above, census, what are they doing with that old warehouse (hopefully making it lofts and not razing it?)? and what is that 55 acre development called and where is it located exactly? (im slipping).

I don't know if the whole project has a name because it is going to take 10 years to complete in several phases. The historic building at 7th & Shipp will become a parking garage, all other buildings on the 55 acre site will be razed. It will more than double the number of on campus housing units

Construction has begun on reconstructing "The Oval" entrance for U of L on 3rd Street, just north of Eastern Parkway

Also, a pic of construction on the Olympic Sports Training Center/ soccer & track stadium expansion
