The twin towers planned for east main will be much taller than Zirmed. This is due to the fact that they will sit on a multilevel parking garage and have a crown. The twin towers on east main just receieved zoning approval and are in final design and engineering phase. As said, I would not expect construction to start for some time. Interestingly, this company has some nice infill in the Highlands already with more planned, including this 17 story tower that will give a row of 4 multistory towers, the tallest of which is the approximately 250 foot 1400 Willow Condos:

I do not have height data for Zirmed or the twins, but I imagine Commercial Real Estate Information and Construction Data / Emporis.com does.

Incidentally, the project for downtown that is most exciting outside the big three-Arena, Museum Plaza, and Center City- is the 400 plus foot Capital Plaza. Check back to the bginning of this thread for renderings.

What Downtown Louisville needs much more than more skyscapers is to improve its feel from ground level, mainly by filling in all those surface level parking lots with 2 story buildings. And don't even get me started on all those 5 lane one way streets

IMO L'ville's Downtown is like a checker board of good and ugly.

West Main's Museum Row is great--> Chestnut St a couple blocks south is ugly
Redone 2nd Street is great --> 1st Street in the same area is ugly
Broadway fr 4th to I-65 is great--> Broadway fr 5th to 9th is mostly vacent lots filled w/ trash (esp near the Greyhound station)

IMO the arena project is by far more important than Museum Plaza or an smaller towers because it will fill Downtown with 20,000 patrons 20 times a year. I don't know how Downtown has surivived w/o a downtown arena. Rupp has single handedly turned its part of Downtown Lex into a small urban paradise (Triangle Park, Victorian Square, Vine & Broadway)

I completely agree Censusdata. If Louisville wants to move to the next level and become a regional, well known beacon like Nashville and Indy then the Arena needs to be built.

I think it will. Simply put, too many people are involved and want the thing built. But its not a done deal until events are booked and the doors open.

A project no one is talking about that will have nearly the impact of the arena is the new 12,000 seat outdoor concert ampitheatre that will be built on the site where Old Cardinal Stadium sits today. It will be very similar to Cincy's River Bend, and I think we all know how many concerts RB gets.

Right now L'ville is losing concerts to Lexington and (gulp) Evansville

really? is dave matthews band playing evansville this year? I agree though, for its size, louisville should get way more concerts. I think what has happened in the past two years is that three venues have stepped up to book major shows: churchill, slugger field, and even the casino. This all makes perfect sense to me? i am not sure we need an outdoor amphitheatre at the fairgrounds with slugger field downtown! The only problem I see is scheduling conflicts with the Bats....
