So a Co-worker and I have accepted a job and the training for this job will either be in Louisville or St. Louis (its not up to us, but I'll post in both city forums)

Anyways, were both about 23 years old, and were looking for an apartment for 9 months. Not sure if there are alot of apartments for rent for 9 months. (Any suggestions would be helpful) Our job is located on 9200 Shelbyville Rd, outside of downtown. We were hoping to be able to ride a bus there, (not sure if there is a bus route near this location)

So we were hoping you could suggestion, some appartments or high rises with rent near $750-$900 for a two bedroom, two bath. We are pretty young, so being near people our same age range is relatively important.

First off, 9200 Shelbyville Road is nowhere near downtown, but rather square in the middle of suburbia.

Your best bet is to look at some of the highrises downtown or in the Highlands off Cherokee park, and they can be found at craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums. Lousiville's traffic is not nearly as bad as STL, nor does it have the massive sprawl like STL, so if you lived downtown, you would be a "reverse" commuter and you could make it to work in less than 20 minutes 9times out of 10. search my posts for detailed descriptions of neighborhoods and tips for young professionals. The Highlands is in my opinion one of the best urban neighborhoods in the Midwest outside Chicago and Minneapolis.

Thanks for your help, we actually live in Minnesota, so its nice to hear some praise of our local area. I did check out craigslist for the highlands, and there were a few places on there. We're planning a visit at some point, and I'll make it a point to check out that area you suggested. I didn't realize that the office we'll be working in is in the middle of the suburbs.

I personally come from the suburbs, but my friend and co worker who I'll be living with is from the downtown area of Minnesota, so I've never really experienced city living. It's something I'm looking forward too. Would you suggest an area in the suburbs to maybe check out and/or other areas downtown to live in?

There are photos of The Highlands and other urban neighborhoods posted under "Louisville Photo Sticky"

I used to live in a really great apartment complex called Slate Run, which is located at the corner of Hurstbourne Parkway and LaGrange Rd. According to their website a 2 bedroom apartment is $625+ utilities

There are lots of similarly priced apartments all along LaGrange Rd, which would be close to that address on Shelbyville Rd
