Kentucky's Mall St. Matthews Shuts Down After Brawls Involving Up to 2,000 - NBC News

basically a bunch "thugs" or as I like to say "idiots" being stupid and invoking havoc. I think they said like 2,000 people(teens mostly) just up to no good. "Flash mob" is what a lot of people are describing it as. Meaning a bunch of idiots show up at once, cause havoc, try to stir up some crap and then leave.

Personally, if they want to act like this, regardless if they're teenagers, I think they should be thrown in jail. They're lucky no armed civilians shot any of them, but maybe then that would've taught them a lesson. I have no sympathy for this crap. If one would've been shot it would've turned into a "race" shooting even though it's simply an act of defense. I know if I'm in a mall, and all these people rush me and start "brawling" or hitting me, I feel I'm entitled to defend myself by all means

I'd say yet another "Black Lives Matter" happening orchestrated on social media, but JMHO. No one else seems to think so, although this is precisely what they do and how they do it...

It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.

BLM protests at malls are orderly and coordinated. I don't support blocking people from shopping but BLM rallies don't involve hordes of young punks acting like out of control idiots for an hour.

Anyone catch the interview with the mayor of St Matthews? He said it was no big deal and they were just bored teens. I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing

I agree with WDRB's David Dyche on this: the media and politicians need to stop covering up the scale of the problem. If people don't feel safe even in St Matthews it will eat away at this city just like Detroit or Gary. Right now we're no where near those cities but only honest discussion on this subject will bring solutions.

Guys, lets not bring up racial things here as it is against forum policy. It seems to me the events were blown out of proportion

Blown out of proportion? you must be confused.... I think we all know what went on and just like all the politicians and news media, we ain't supposed to talk about it. In a perfect world it might work like that. Don't talk about it and it will go away...sure it will.

I have a question...how many of those alleged teenagers were actually teenagers? No doubt some were but, I have a feeling more were let's say, somewhat older.

What specific crimes were committed? There is no rule against discussing crimes. Are the police gathering video evidence from the stores, and planning to prosecute the criminals? Or is that kind of response beyond their competence?

110% agree with you. Everything now days is either "covered" up to make it seem less like a big deal, or it's either blown waaaaay out of proportion. There is never just the simple truth anymore.

Well, they ARE teenagers (as young as 12) who, traditionally, don't always act like adults...

And bringing up a movement -- which is currently very active -- isn't bringing up "race."

Even if it were brought up, it shouldn't be shut down. Do we have free speech or not???

News conference this morning, including details on reports of injuries sustained by shoppers.
