I grew up in the West End of Louisville in the late 1960's. After church on Sunday mornings, my parents would go to a nearby bakery and buy cheese kucka (sp) for breakfast.

We went to mass at St. Cecilia's and my memory has it that the bakery was close to the church.

My search has revealed that the bakery is now closed and has been for a while. I do not know the name of the bakery.

Does anyone know the name of the bakery or have a recipe that might duplicate this delicacy?

I'm not from that end of town or really know your answer to the bakery question, but Heitzman (sp) has numerous of locations and that is what is coming to mind that maybe the answer.

And you could Goggle the recipe like I just did. I came up with the following....and it sounds good too:

Grandma Moldenhauer Recipe Conservatory Cheese Cake (Kucka)

I think it might have been Heitzman, because my friends Mom use to get the Kucka (Gosh they were Good!)
and I remember stopping at a Heitzman bakery, I believe it was when we were with her.

Gosh, I miss Heitzman's Bakery - they were my favorite! Oh wow, they are still around!!!!
