And now they've got "go anywhere fares" where you can travel thousands of miles for just $100. Beats air travel for actually seeing the place thats for sure. And tickets do NOT expire until 1 year, so if ye book say Nashville to Louisville to Chicago to New York under the bargain plan then you can visit any stop/location city long as ye like along the way, catching whatever next bus goes to yer next destination.
Ahh Greyhound, i know em well being former truck driver shuttled all over the place to/from trucking depots far apart as L.A CA, Laredo TX and Miami FL. It aint the most comfortable method of travel compared with trains
Amtrak but definitely it's the most colorful. You'll see all kinds of characters on Greyhound bus including military on leave, college kid backpack crowd and amish. I once road from San Antonio TX to New Orleans with charming girl sittin next to me who'd been visiting her husband, a convicted criminal jailed somewhere in Texas. Definitely you'll see the sorta people you dont meet everyday. And the Nashville station is taxi cab distance to Music Row, some really cool performers at nightclubs there. Heck, I'd book late night bus to Louisville say 3AM from Nashville after enjoying night on the town.
