Last week, I saw a blue car past a stopped school bus. Unfortunately, I couldn't see their license plate in time.

Are JCPS school buses equipped with cameras to catch these reckless drivers?

No - imagine the cost! Not something you'd get much taxpayer buy-in for. We barely see local cops running traffic patrol here, so I'd imagine budgets are running paper thin these days.

In my experience, the stop sign cameras on buses are pretty limited to the richer districts for now I.E. Arlington and Fairfax, VA. I don't think JCPS qualifies. Great idea, yes.

Actually the JCPS busses have...what was it...four cameras on board, none are for the outside, no front facing unit like TARC. Even if they did have one, the bus driver would have to call in the driver themselves, no school or compund will do it, niether will any bus person at CB Young. That's why people get away with it, unless there's a present cop. The driver would have to call it in on their personal phone and wait for them to show up and take the report.

They also track the busses via gps, so how would they not qualify? They probably don't want to spend the money, like they don't want to on metal detectors for every school.
