Hello. A friend from Massachusetts is thinking of moving to Louisville. Her income is from SSI, she currently gets food stamps and has a portable Sec 8 voucher. She found Riverport Landing online, asked me about it. I live in Jtown, and don't frequent with the Cane Run Rd area. Any info is appreciated. She should have a car, won't need to worry about a job commute. Generally-how safe is the area? Shopping? Dining? Really, any info is appreciated. Thanks.

It's not a bad area....but it's not the best and it's far from Jtown. Jtown isn't much more....I'd much prefer to see her in Jtown, Highview, or Fern Creek for long term happiness.

Thanks for the response. What do you mean..."Jtown isn't much more..."? Unfortunately, we've not found any apartments that accept Section 8 vouchers in the Jtown area. Nor Fern Creek. Not familiar with Highview either...I get it confused with Hillview. I spend most of my time when not at work in St Matthews, Middletown, Lyndon, Highlands, Anchorage, etc etc. Anyway, thanks again. Hopefully this new multi-generational housing project is revitalizing the area somewhat.
