Are there any Baptist Churches in Louisville that have small groups instead of Sunday school format?

A very large percentage have both.

Okay well that's great news, so far we've looked at about 10 or 12 online and I've only found one that does small groups. Highview Baptist.

What are some others?

I am not Baptist and do not live in Louisville. I did however pull up the websites of 12 random Louisville area Baptist churches and 11 of them have small groups. The information is placed in various locations on the various sites - on the calendar, under “adults”, under “adult ministries”, under “about us”, under “are you new...”. There was no consistency where it was placed from church to church. Bottom line, they have them, but you are going to have explore the sites or call because I didn’t find any under a nice convenient label like “small groups”.

Louisville has a lot of Baptist churches, they tend to be very friendly people, I suggest you actually call a couple to ask and they don’t, ask if they know a couple that do. They will happily tell you. It is not unusual in Kentucky to attend church one place and go the other churches’ adult education or other programs.

Quite a few had prayer breakfasts, too. My husband loved going to that.

Yeah that's not the same thing when you really dig in. We saw plenty of that too. Most that we've seen still have the old Sunday school format and their "small groups" are actually ministries like a Monday lunch women's group or a men's bible study on Wednesday night, not home groups or community groups....very different format

Thanks for your effort though, much appreciated

I've looked for the community groups/small groups as well but theyrr not as common as you might think. Non-denominational churches tend to have them more and I did look up on in Fern Creek that had some pretty cool topics. I've also noticed many of them, however, are during working hours.

I go to Walnut Street Baptist Church (SBC) in Old Louisville. Our membership has dwindled to the point that even though we still do "Sunday School" per se, all the classes are small. (5-12 people). We are divided into departments, and there is usually a short meeting of the entire department before breaking up into individual classes.

Walnut Street has a lot to offer, and we would love to have you visit us! Although we are a "downtown" church, we have a huge parking lot, so no problem there. A majority of our members live in other parts of the city, so it's a very eclectic group!
