Hey there.

We are a non-traditional family of five, with children ages ranging from 5 to 15. We may begin to take in a foster child as well. We started out at SE Christian and liked that they have a youth ministry, great sermons, and a lot going on. However, it was too big for us and when times were hard for us and we needed a church family to love on us, we found that SE was too big to love on us like that. We were lost in a crowd, I suppose. We visited some churches but they did not have a youth group for our oldest and that was important to us. Finally we came upon a Baptist church with lots of kids and youth but horrible as it sounds, we really want out. Nearly every gathering, we have heard members bashing on other members for their appearance, income, or where they send their kids to school. There seems to be a hate for public school families, which we are and in,general, in seems the emphasis is on money.

Needless to say, we really want a God-loving church where we and the kids all can belong, where we could invite friends without worrying how they would be treated. We would like a church with more diversity, including diverse incomes and families. A youth group is a must. We would love to see a lot of fellowship...a place that feels like family..but not a clique...would be ideal, as well as a place where we can grow spiritually. Lastly, we would hope it wouldn't be too far away...Pherhaps within 20 minutes of St. Matthews.

Are you open to Catholic? I don't know as many general Christian churches but I hear nothing but good things about Sojourn...and they got a few campuses.
