Looks like I'm moving to Louisville
Yeah! The job offer came through today, and we're in the ironing-out-the-details phase now.
But I just wanted to say a huge thank you to folks on this discussion board who give such fantastic information. I was in Louisville this past weekend looking around and found what was said here to be very true to reality.
Your information has already made what will be a very difficult move easier, so I'll probably be bugging you with more detailed questions in the future.
But thanks, gang. Each with her/his perspective has provided valuable insight, and I appreciate you all.

You're going to love Kentucky and the Louisville area. This is a great time to get a feel for our town too because our Kentucky Derby festivities are in full swing! We're a very warm and welcoming state.

Hey, Alan. I really like what I've seen of L'ville. And I'm here to testify that from what I saw on my feet during my visit last weekend that the info you get here is the real deal. Very helpful to those of us moving in.
And I hope you're settled in by this time next year, too.

Thanks, constructlou! I should be closing on a 1950's ranch near Iroquois Park later this month. After a major bathroom remodel on our home here, my DH of 28 years and I decided we wouldn't make it through building our own home.
But that was before we knew a good contractor like I'm sure you are.
