Hmmmmm...I suppose I never noticed that about NASCAR fans. In our neck of the woods the primary problem is soccer moms in mini vans. They seem incapable of locating the turn signal.

Nah, I know good and well they aren't all like that just in a particular neighborhood I used to live in. But then quite a few of them raced their own cars at Ohio Valley dragway and that one in Indiana.

On Yahoo! Sports they had a video column saying that KY would likely get a 2010 date that is currently taken by Dover <-- a track that has problems selling tickets and is notorious for really bad crashes. KY would probably be one of the driver's favorite tracks given its layout is similar to Kansas & Atlanta Speedways

Reported on ESPN.com, it is estimated that the local economic impact of a Sprint Cup race at KY Speedway would be in the neighborhood of 200 million dollars annually...not sure how they figure these things out but these numbers compare favorably to the 2005 Super Bowl in Jacksonville when (I've read) the impact to the local economy for this once every other decade event was in the neighborhood of 275 million. Personally I don't care how many teeth the average NASCAR fan has (and I are one) They can come into my community and buy all the gas, ice and hot dogs they want to if it is going to suport local business.
