Default washington park

looking for recommendations for where to live in the ville.

i'm:
gonna be driving to fort knox.
looking for something near 31, but not near the post.
near shopping areas.
nice neighborhood.
looking for a townhouse setting.
about halfway between knox and the city.

any suggestions?

i was in louisville and looked at a couple places. i was thinking about washington park townhouses, and the place was real nice. but wasn't sure about the area.

any input would be appreciated.

That is a pretty diverse and pretty area but you won't be as close to Ft Knox as you would be somewhere in the Dixie Hwy (31W) area. Pleasure Ridge park and Valley station is closest. If you don't have to be in Louisville, Elizabethtown is nice too. I found this house if that is an option: House for Rent Near Fort Knox

There are some new patio home developments off 3rd Street Road in Auburndale. One of them is called Autumn Ridge, not sure what the other is called

well here's the thing. I'm a single officer so I don't need a whole ton of space. Ideally I'd be halfway between Knox and Louisville so it'd be a close drive to both. The thing with E-town is that if it has about as much traffic along 31 as north of Knox. So if I'm going to deal with traffic, I might as well be closer to the city.

That Washington Park area didn't seem too bad. Seemed close enough to Gene Snyder or the inner loop to hop on one of those and hit 31. Coming from Fort Bragg, that drive is nothing. Its all highway either down to Knox or into the city, and traffic is a ton better than it is here. As long as you guys say Washington Park is in an OK area, thats what I'll probably go with. I guess I'm just wondering if there is anything comparable (as far as setting and townhomes go) closer to 31, and maybe a little closer to Knox.

Driving is a ton better there than it is down here. Downtown Louisville is about the same distance to Knox as Raleigh is from Fort Bragg, but the drive is a ton better because traffic doesn't consume you with road rage. So the driving doesn't bother me a TON. Aside from the fuel prices. I just want to have a break from the military setting and not live near all that.

Thanks for your help.
