The Rusty Pelican, originally owned by Bob Kiper, was first a franchise of Cape Codder Seafood Restaurants, started by my family in 1970s. We used to have fresh chilled baby Halibut (scrod) flown in each morning from Boston area fisheries. Never frozen and could be fried or broiled. Some of our recipes were improved by Col. Sanders (of Ky Fried Chicken fame). But, that company was bought out and Mr. Kiper was treated badly by the new general manager, so he changed the name(s) of all his seafood outlets to Rusty Pelican. Both companies have faded into history. Thanks for the mention. -Doug

Lenning's is the kind of place you go on a warm evening when the weather is nice. The good is typical seafood and traditional American eating. If you go there, go when the weather is nice and walk down to the river. I made the hike many times as a kid.

It's kind of like eating dinner at summer camp....with cold beer and sea food.

Been there many times. I think the food is good and service fast. Portions are large, my wife and I usually split a dinner. If your are a cleanliness freak, take your own vinyl table cover or eat inside.
