Moving to Louisville, need help on a good apartment near work
I am moving from Asheville, NC and my job will be in the industrial complex that is just north of Hunters Hollow/Hillview area and just southeast of the junction of I-265 and I-65 (south side). I'd like to find a nice 3BR apartment within 10 miles of work. Less is better. It would also be nice if the apartments offered storage space as well, but it's not a must as long a safe public storage area is nearby.
So far, I am considering the following complexes:
Park Lake Apts
Tanglewood Apts
Providence Properties, LLC
Willowbrook Apts
Royal Arms Apts
Any advice on these, or others, and/or a location close to work is very much appreciated.
Also, how much is gas a gallon of regular there?

Never heard of any of them. This is a metro area of 1.3 million with hundreds if not thousands of complexes....but maybe someone will know something about them.
Gas has been really expensive here. It was up to 4.59 for awhile, but it is back below 4.00 now. I have even seen 3.80 recently. Check gas prices here:

There is no site for Asheville, but as you can see, Louisville gas has been much more expensive than gas in Charlotte (which is more comprable to Louisville in terms of size) over a 3 month period:

Do you have to live in a large, suburban complex? (without knowing I am guessing that is what those are). Or would you be willing to find a rental home/condo/apartment off craigslist in a more urban setting?

I currently live in a house I own, north of Asheville, in a rural area.
I am open to rent a home/condo/apartment in Louisville but it has be close to work I mentioned above. So, from what I can tell, my future work area is in a suburban area.
I have already checked craigslist, only 1 came up within an acceptable distance from work, and its price was as bad or worse than the places I listed.
I need to know where the "good" and "safe" areas close to my future work area are.
Thanks.

Its all safe around there. Anywhere outside 264 is safe in general. Inside 264 is also very safe too, as long as you are east of 7th street (9th street downtown).

Tanglewood and Royal Arms are going to be too far north-there are some nice apartments in the Brooks area which is just south of 265 on 65 which extends into areas just east of 65 along 265. I hope this makes sense- my friend lived in some really nice apartments in that area i'll have to get the name

Thanks. I am now looking with interest at Southgate Apts. They're within 2 miles of work. What does anyone know about them?
