Missy, you aren't the only person who misses Winn-Dixie. While I am not one of them, I have heard many people disappointed. Beuhlers was a wonderful small chain that overstepped its financial capabilities when it bit into the Winn-Dixie stores.

Missy, when I fist came here Winn-Dixie was going out of business. They are a chain from jacksonville and I found them to be super junky. The worst was their meats and deli. They had the WORST cuts of meat I have seen. Also, their produce was horrible. In the end, their prices were not very competitive either. Granted, I would mainly go to the one on downtown on fourth street, so maybe that had something to do with it. I agree Buehler's was not much better.

I HATED Beuhler's but Winn-Dixie was great in it's prime. My sister got her first job there, too!

Not in springhurst, but very close about 7 minutes away at Hurstbourne and Shelbyville:

Quick note, the prices on a lot of things in the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market are often higher than the same items at a Supercenter. Personally I like Meijer because of the wide selection and the great sales that they have on meat!

your right Buehler's is awful. I live in Illinois where we have a Buehler's Buy-Low, it should be called Buy-High... bad quality, and I'm not the biggest Wal-mart supporter that's for sure, but the groceries there are 50 times better than at Buy-low. THey might as well call all the buy-low stores IGA's now since Buehlers got bought out by this private group from Bowling Green. no-more buy low brands and what not. now it's IGA. and the quality isn't near as good as it was.

I'm glad should I move to louisville next year I won't have the debacle that was Buehlers there anymore.

I work at Kroger, and I'm in the UFCW so I usually avoid any form of Wal Mart like the plague. I'm from a hardcore union family. In fact, I never even set foot in a Wal Mart until I was 17. When Winn Dixie was here I never went, but I went to one in Florida last year and really liked it. The Valumarket in Iroquois is by where I live. It's a pretty cool place. I would probably shop there all the time if I didn't work at Kroger.
