Default Coming to Louisville

Thanks everyone for all your help. I have decided to move to Louisville. Will arrive September 4. If anyone knows of a studio or efficiency (everything included), please let me know. I am possibly looking for a weekly rental or by the month if rent and deposit is not too much. Rent must be reasonable because I have to find a job quickly. It is important that I don't live in a drug-infested and gang banger neighborhood and am looking for something in a reasonable area. Down town would probably be best for work and public transportation because I do not have a driving license. I may not find everything I am looking for but it is worth a shot.
Thanks again and have a nice day.

The most affordable studio aps would be in a safe older neighborhood like Original Highlands, Germantown, or Butchertown. You could probably get something in the $380s range with all utilities included.

There are a few places that offer month to month rentals. Two that come to mind are Kentucky Towers and Weisinger-Gaulbert. You could probably get rent with all utilities for around 600. Barrington Place would also be an option. The bus service is excellent downtown, and ridetar.org has an excellent trip planner:

TARC: Trip Planner

LDMD - Living Downtown - Louisville, KY

Also, you really need to search all over Craigslist Louisville. It may be an option for you to find a roomate. There are always sweet deals even in the Highlands where people will give you a furnished apartment with a roomie for around 500 a month, and Bardstown Road has good bus service close to downtown. Furthermore, college students in the metro ride Tarc for free. Just show your ID. I will be moving this thread to the Louisville subforum.....

Maybe I am old fashioned but isn't it a bit "dangerous" to find a stranger as a roommate? Then again, I would never do online dating or ask a man out either

hehe, when I lived in Atlanta I did it! There are way more options for it in the bigger cities, but Louisville has a few on its craigslist. It is mostly normal people! Just meet them at a coffee shop and hang out with them a few times in public first.
