Wow, these places really bring back the memories. I honestly don't think there is enough band width on the whole of the www for me to talk about my fond memories of many of these places that are long gone but never forgotten......

Great subject. I'm helping out on the creation of a book on the history of Southwest Louisville. If any of you have old photos of the Southwest area from Shively to Kosmosdale, please let me know. Especially from Valley Station like landmarks, shopping (Westland Mall would be great) schools restaurants or homes. There's not a lot on this area in the UofL archives. Maybe we can work something out. See your name in print!!

I have a faded color pic of he old Jackey house on E Pages Lane that I took around 1979 or 80 or so.

I'll scan it and post it here.

I alos have a bunch of xeroxes of soil survey aeriels of VS starting in the 1930s. The resolution isnt that good. Again I could scan these and post there, as a seperate thread (though this board is more about helping people relocate we do talk on other stuff, too).

Yes, that is it. I remember a Consolidated store, Ayr-Way (Target) and a car wash out front. I remember the mall. It had an arcade and a movie theater. There was a Merle Norman Cosmetics store, too. I got my ear pierced there!! LOVE to have a pic of Westland Mall for the book.
