Having moved away when I was 15, I can keep Louisville forever as it was in my mind, for I'm not there to see the changes that have taken place. I last came back in February 2010 for a funeral, and I like what it used to be a lot better. Oxmoor Center, vibrant when I was kid, feels like a masoleum now. I couldn't drive down Bardstown and see a Wal-Mart and a boarded up building where Bacons used to be. Preston Highway, where my dad's family lived, has gotten seedy. I don't blame anyone for this; things changed. But I'd prefer to just remember Louisville as it was; its good enough for me.

I moved (as a kid) to Louisville in 1971, and moved away in 1984, but return frequently. So I can see the changes...mixed feelings, too.

I sure miss Uncle Ron Clay
Love those WAKY, WKLO, and LKYRadio sites; I discovered them a few years back. I don't think I've ever heard an announcer I liked better than Bailey; I was blown away by his work. They also had a great montage of 70's WAKY commercials, and the LKY site had WDJX's first day on the air in 1985. For some reason Louisville was a radio market thay played bigger than its actual size, and we were better for it.

I'm going to miss the place somewhat, but I haven't been there in a long time. When I use to go there in the early 2000, they had regular waitresses and waiters who I got to know.

Something on the news said Lynn might be getting in trouble for something concerning 'tipping out' she made wait people do that is illegal in KY. Who knows? Running an eating establishment is a hi-burnout endeavor. She probably just needed a break.

Yeah, I heard that too but who know what is the truth. Maybe someone got mad at another one there and stirred up stuff to shut it down. Or maybe she wanted to retire and planned this all along. Who knows. I've met her before in person and she's a nice lady so I don't know why she would do everyone wrong there. I presume someone started something to make this all happen. Just my opinion.

veggie, you are the first person i've ever heard refer to lynn as a "nice lady". I know tons of servers and back house people who worked there over the years and everyone hated her. she is legendary for profanity-laced tyrades directed at her employees. she treated people horribly for two decades and it's finally coming home to roost.

and the story regarding her breaking labor laws is 100% correct. it involved her requiring servers to show up to work with 100 bucks cash on them so they could tip out bussers and back house at end of shift. illegal in kentucky.
