Question Doggy doors??

Hello, probably another dumb question for soon to be Oldham County residents! A lot of areas in that zone have a no-fence requirement or just a agreed upon no yard fencing style. Were use to having a doggy door for our pooch, and cat to go in and out, and they are very good about staying close to home.

I know that some houses still have a smaller fenced area just behind their homes sometimes obviously for their pets, but what do all the other people do regarding letting their animals out? Are they just made to be in-door animals who get walked as much as possible? Or do you stick to larger dogs that you keep on a long leash outside in the day? Just curious, like the look of the no-fence open style, but worry about our little critters? Thanks in advance!

Each subdivision has its own fencing rules. By no means are most Oldham County developments no-fence properties. With the advent of effective underground pet fences (a battery operated collar alerts the trained animal of the underground wire), fenceless yards and pets became possible. Generally, people who let their cats out don't worry as the cats are going to go wherever they wish anyway. Dogs on the other hand can be well trained to never cross the fence.

I would never leash a dog all day every day. So, unless you are willing to trust your pup on an underground fence, best buy in a fenceable area.
