I've been looking at all of the traffic cams on WAVE3 TV, but I can't tell if I'm catching rush hour traffic or just regular traffic.

Thanks.

I'd say rush hour is 7:45 AM to 9 AM and then 4:15 PM to 6 PM. Does that sound about right?

I think that overall, we are very lucky with having relatively light rush hours.

Okay, I'll check the cameras out during those times. I have been looking for the "sea of red tail lights" that signals bottlenecks and accidents plugging up traffic, but I haven't seen that yet in the cameras. In fact, so far, I haven't seen any "parking lots" on the freeways in the mornings/evenings. That's why I can't tell if it's rush hour or not.

Now I did see what I think might have been an accident situation. This was on Sunday around dusk in one of the cameras down by water and multiple bridges. The cars were not moving, and I could see flashing red and blue lights. But that was not a rush hour type of situation - just an unfortunate accident.

Many thanks!

It's usually worse in the mornings with everyone diverging on downtown, as opposed to the late afternoon, when everyone is scattering in different directions.

I listen to WFPK online and there are daily accidents on the afternoon home commute, but I think that's to be expected. I know I hit "rush hour" one afternoon as I was traveling into the city from S. IN, but it was just a merging issue and it cleared up rather shortly.

Now, that's the kind of phrase you always want to hear in connection with traffic. Many thanks.
