Air and Water quality?? Louisville O.K.??
Hi Friends, On a city comparison chart I saw it lists air and water quality very low for Louisville, much better for Lexington, I'm moving to one or the other, from rural new england which is pretty good, Is this generally correct? Seems to be more nightscene in Louisvile, Which I'm after!

The air quality in Lousiville in the summer can get bad due to temperature inversions, though its really nice in the winter and fall. The water quality seems to be pretty good as far as I can tell.
More nightlife in Louisville, but Lexington has things too. What are you into?

Mostly looking for good jazz clubs, used book stores, ethnic restaurants, I'm a funk jazz player and looking for clubs to play. Kimmieky gave me some good leads to look at on the net, just wondering about industrial pollution around there, old chemicle factories, damage to the water table etc thanks Johnnybc

actually Louisville probably has more of what you are looking for, but Lexington might have, too, just less of it. I know there is a good used bookstore up in the Highlands...Time Tested Books, or Twice Told Books (forget which). There are also a number of ethnic places in Louisville...seeing more arabic places, now, it seems.
The water in Louisville comes from the river, and is treated/filtered, so you dont have to worry about contamination from the watert table...its also "soft", meaning there are not a lot of minerals and stuff in it the way there is in groundwater.
There are or where old chemical plants on the west side of town, but those are mostly closing or closed, now I think, or reducing in operations. Its unlikely they will affect the air quality in town the way they used to in the old days. The air pollution in Lou comes more from cars.
