Why do you not believe that? You don't think there are shootings everyday in Louisville?

I don't believe that there are people who are shot and it isn't reported. As a matter of fact, on of my co-worker's son is a homicide detective, maybe I'll ask him if there are daily shootings.

I grew just across the river in new albany but have lived in louisville off and on for a total of 7 years. I currently live in louisville. I'm not hiding out in the suburbs either, I live off poplar level road by st. x high school. Not a bad neighborhood but not the best either. It wouldn't matter where I lived, I wouldnt be walking anywhere after dark unless I lived in a gated community (which will probably never happen) the city has it's good and bad things, but it's my home and I don't honestly see me ever wanting to live anywhere else! my family and friends are here and it's familiar to me. If it got to the point where I didn't feel like it was a safe place to raise my son, I would move. I doubt that I ever do though. unless I win the lottery

The Highlands is the safest neighborhood in Louisville - you're comparing it to Portland.....LOL
Violence in louisville depends entirely on the area you live in, there is a HUGE difference between the East end and West end.

cdp means clarksdale projects, which wat destroyed in 2006...most of them slobs moved to sheppard square projects..(which is about to be destroyed too) and in newburg...and $keenan$ is right...louisville doesnt put everything on the news..last month on a sunday morning I was at my cousins house in the westned, on 38th and riverpark, mining my own business, and my aunt came out of her room about 6:30 or 7 in the morning and said some guy was hiding by her window. the next thing we heard is about 7 or 8 gun shots firing into the house and into someones car. Me, lil bruh, and lil cuz looked out the window and someones car was in the frontyard, the nieghbors fence was crashed into, there was blood all over the front of the house, and there was a guy dead and not moving by the car in the front yard. 10-15 mins later the police finally arrived, they looked around the house for about 5 mins and left as if nothing had happeend. West of louisville, some parts of the southend like cane run area, shively, wyandotte, newburg area is not safe at all. Besides smoketown area, East of louisville is safe. They're is better and mtv crib size houses out there, Friendly people, better restraunts, malls, schools, air quality, etc. I was born in the hood, pops going in an out of the prison. My moms was basically a single mother trying to raise 2 boys to be gentlemen. Then she got her a job that paid well enough to move out the hood and live in some of best nieghborhoods east of louisville. We lived in glen oaks for a few years until my moms went to prison. She did nine months and i was at the end of my senior year in highschool. I was 18 taking care of my 15 going on 16 year old brother. We lost our house, pops got out and got caught for doing the same thing again. We were living with our aunt for 8 months until she kicked us out over something petty. Then a month after that my moms got out, got a job and invested and got her own business, we live in the westend on south 35th street. i love the westend far wise clubs, famliy, and people I know. But i rather live back out east like brownsboro by the summit, or westport rd by the i265 area. its nicer, quiet, the police doesnt mess with as much, the air is much clearer and cleaner, plus on top of that its better to raise kids there too.

I have seen MS-13 tags in the Smoketown area while working a few years ago. I have no clue if it's the real MS-13. Gangs have never threatened me in any way, but I have never given them reason to.
