Here is a link to the article. After this headline, it comes out in the article that the average home will see a $7/month increase.

Good catch. My point is that the CJ seemed to over emphasize the recent rate increase by making it one of their headlines. Truth through reading the article was that this actual (dollar value) increase will be relatively small.

Call it a slow news day.

I could have added that Lynnview's (near Jefferson Mall) property taxes are going up 28% and the state's auditor open an investigation looking into why they rose so much in one year.

Yes, it was appropriately explained. What I didn't explain, however, is that unlike many people, I appreciate watchdogs. Like nearly every other community, city, county, or state, Oldham County has its share of issues. Vigilance keeps the bad to a minimum and as a cheerleader for Oldham County, integrity says that we must acknowledge when its poopy stinks (pun intended as this was about the sewer system.)

Speaking of watchdogs. Dewey Wotring, whom I don't always agree with, does do a good job of at least keeping the issues in the spotlight. His community blog at www.oldhamcoutywatchdog.com is a good read.
