Dh is in the military and we will be relocating to Louisville in a month or so. We are looking to rent a house do to the fact that we only stay for a short time in an area (1-3yrs). Have two kids in elementary. Dh will be commuting to area by the airport in Louisville. Would like to spend no more than 850.00 a month. HELP!!
School systems are the most important aspect to me.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Just to be sure, DH will not be based at Fort Knox, but the Airport, is that right? I was going to say if DH was at Fort Knox to rent in Elizabethtown instead of looking in Louisville.

Bullitt County. It's a straight shot up I-65 to the airport.

i noticed, while looking for a place to live in the Louisville area, that rent seemed to be very high. i wanted to rent a house, but couldn't find anything in my price range.

buying might not be a bad option. even if you're here for only 2 years, you will probably be able to find a home that will give you a lower cost than renting. just my 2 cents.

good luck to you.

It's been about 15 years since I've lived in Louisville, keep that in mind when reading my response. There were several nice areas near the UL campus, also the South End of Louisville might be a place to look as I-65 northbound runs pretty close to the airport. Now I was in college when I lived in Louisville so I can't really judge as to the public school systems. I know a lot of people did a lot of things to make sure their kids got into Catholic schools.
