I'm wanting to take my two year old son out this weekend but I'm not sure where to take him. I've taken him to Chuck E. Cheese's and Kid's Place (in Lexington) before but they just aren't exactly suitable for a two year old. I need something that is directed mainly for toddlers. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

I'm closer to Lexington but I'm willing to go to Louisville because it's only about a hour and a half away. I'm wanting something fun for him to do... anything really obviously with the weather I want it to be indoors. A place where he can play and have fun.

I do not have kids, and two is a tough age. Aren't they happy with anything? Anywho things that come to mind are:

YMCA
Puzzle's Fun Dome
Incredible Dave's (more for older kids but you can actually have a beer while your kid plays)
Hoops
Gattiland
Louisville Zoo
Louisville Science Center
Ray's Monkey House
louisville toy stores - Google Search

The above is a link to toy stores. Build a Bear Workshop and Playthings are good two good ones.

Kid friendly and free kid food:

For older kids theres always ice skating, roller skating, the extreme park, malls, parks, Kentucky Kingdom (in summer). You could take your child to a play like the Christmas Carol at the KY center, and there are always disney shows coming thru the city.

I wish they were happy with anything or at least him. He's very picky and gets bored extremely easy.

Ok, thank you. I'll look into some of those.

Being the expert parent that I am, yeah, right... Don't worry so much about where you take your child, just take your child and let them create. They don't need a commercial spot, they need you, the freedom to imagine and the space to be.

A child with a crayon, a large empty (appliance) box and some colored tape.... even a two year old can surprise an adult's expectations. Bright, happy, and free....

I'm with Tom. You'd be surpised at how much fun a toddler can have with a piece of tape

My kids are the kinds that like to do their own creating. They get bored if it is done for them so they prefer the simplest of things and places (like old playgrounds with simple equipment, etc)

Have you been to the Science center in Louisville? There is a whole area just for play and has water tables, puppets, etc and kids love it!
