A few stories have run on the news suggesting LGE has made some billing errors. Contact them to conduct an audit if you feel they were in the wrong.

Check the dates on your billing cycle...There is no way you could have already received a bill for post ice storm service.

It said the reading date was January 27th. So I had at least two days with no service since my power went out 2:30 a.m. What they did was an estimate, and apparently they estimated wrong.

hey missy,

Apparenlty LG&E is rather.....GOOD.....at doing (over)estimations..........mom has mentioned her bill being higher than usual several times over the past few months. The last time I was home she got a bill from them that I know good and well was NOT right. I called them, pretended to be her, and sure enough, there was apparently a "glitch in the system". I called them out on it and said the only glitch in the system was the moron who created the bill. I was not in a very good mood that day--poor girl! She sounded like a child.....she was probably quite young. Anyway.....

They did of course correct it, but it just goes to show that you really have to pay attention to these things. My mom is not great with money at the best of times. She never checks her phone bill, cable bill (or whatever she's got) or LG&E; she doesnt shop around for better deals on anything. she'll just pay whatever they say she owes. I guess she thinks that they will not rip her off.

I of course realise that errors will be made--everyone is human after all--but repeated overestimations and over billing? I think someone smells an easy target after a while, and a little here, a little there, and gee no one is the wiser. think of how many elderly and mentally disabled people get taken advantage of every month....

Now my sister checks things out when my mom isn't looking--just to make sure; why pay more than you owe? lol
