I was just wondering what the job market looked like in Louisville? I am a teacher but seriously considering getting a job outside of education. any suggestions on companies who are actually not making cuts and who may like to hire teachers?
I was also wondering if their were any good companies to look at for finance jobs. (Not for me but a friend)

Thanks for any help!

Yes, there are jobs in Louisville. My wife is an HR director, I am a real estate broker-owner-auctioneer, and we are both involved in an inter-faith group working to help people in changing careers. While we are not a job bank, there just might be opportunities for occupational discovery.

Sounds like an interesting group. I don't currently live in Louisville but I love the area. I just want to see what kind of opportunities would be available (other than teaching) if I were to make the move.

Louisville's economy is more stable and better than the national average. I think the city is doing quite well. That said, the city's historic manufacturing base is really hurting. I think I would stick with education or healthcare as they are the two most stable lines of work right now.

i'm wondering if you might be able to find work in the hardin or meade county public school system. you don't have to be a teacher. i know these school systems will be expanding because of the influx of residents to fort knox in the coming years. just a thought.
