Hello,

I'm currently looking at taking a job in Louisville (currently work / live in southern Indiana, will continue to live in southern IN). Will I have to pay income taxes for both states? Or will I get credits from paying the (higher) KY income taxes that'll negate my IN income taxes? Also, does anyone happen to know the local income tax for metro-Louisville?

Thanks for the advice!

Any one working in Louisville/Jefferson County must pay an effective rate of about 2.2% as an occupational tax. I can't answer your question about the current state income tax rules. I am sorry.

I don't think you'll have to pay any taxes until the amount exceeds $34,000. Beyond that amount, it seems that even paying back taxes won't save you from getting fired.
