Hiding from jerks... I have never found a problem with Louisville women. If you are a jerk, you won't find a good one, but if you are a genuine, caring, decent man, you will have to fight the good women off.
OP, this isn't to suggest anything about you, but rather to all men who fail to understand how wonderful Louisville women are although there are a few ___'s. Men, get out of the bars. Get to church not as a meat market, but rather as a training ground for becoming the kind of man most real women want.

How old are you? where do you live? interests? hobbies? Tomocox pushes church hard, and while that is a nice idea, it certainly isnt for everyone. I do think church or clubs are a nice way to meet women. Ditto volunteering. Louisville is a metro area of 1.3 million....single women are plentiful here.

Ok, STX, let's look at why I "push church hard". Fact: 40% of all American babies were born out of wedlock last year. Fact: A huge number of those children will be effectively "wards of the state". This means that instead of parental responsibility paying for their care, you and I will. Fact: The Louisville Murder rate.
You will note that I have not suggested any particular denomination or religion. While I am a Baptist, I see the degradation of our nation's integrity is tied to lack of church attendance. At least the numbers prove it, and all liberals know that numbers are never wrong when used to prove a point.
Another fact: A marriage found in church is much more likely to last. Divorce is not a stranger to church families, but fewer church families wind up in divorce court.
Like most liberal social ideas, the attitude that church doesn't make a difference just is not founded on solid rock.

What you state as fact is nothing more than opinion.
To the OP, I do agree with tomocox that you can meet nice women at church, but you can also meet them in any number of othe rplaces.

Why do you condemn the facts that I have only repeated from the United States Government? Is it because I stated them that you feel you must discount my words? I am not much for exaggeration on this site. There are too many who will "call my hand". I am happy to have people correct me, but to just discount without evidence to the contrary is not an appropriate act.
Nice women at church want nice men who are church-goers to worship, not men who go to church to find a nice lady.

Tom, it is not the facts you posted I disagree with, but it is your INTERPRETATION of the facts. What evidence do you have that if those children were born to married couples that the situation would be any different? Frankly, I find your comments a bit insulting to the millions of good, single moms and dads out there. You don't have to be married to be a good parent, and just because you aren't married, doesn't mean your children are "wards of the state."
So, I don't dispute your facts, but rather, your interpretation of them.

If I were single in Louisville right now and looking to meet some single women, I'd take my dog to one of the dog parks around here. I've definitely gotten some looks (or at least my dog has, and that's gotta be good for something right?) at the Cochran Hill one, and I think there's some kind of dog park over by Baxter in the original Highlands that should be a good bet.
And from past experience that I don't necessarily know if it holds true here or not, climbing gyms are amazing places to meet some pretty wonderful women. I know the Y downtown has a climbing wall and might do the trick, but there is a large gym somewhere over by Hurstbourne that I would look into.

Well, I am right here, OP!
I wonder the same thing, only where can I find a good man?
I have been to the parks in the city, I love Cox's and Cherokee, and once the weather turns good I will be hanging out in them a lot.
But where else can singles go that is not a bar or church in this town to have a good time and meet people?
I have been here a little over a year, so am reasy to get out and start learning what Louisville has to do that is fun!

Hmm, what do you do in ANY town to have fun? Honestly, once you get into metro areas over 1 million, many of them look the same except in their more urban areas. Spend a lot of time on pedestrian friendly Bardstown Road and Frankfort Avenue, walk your dog in Cherokee Park, and join interesting clubs and you will meet someone, I promise.
