hotel with indoor pool
My extended family and I are planning a trip up this weekend to take a bunch of kids to the zoo. I was thinking that it'd be fun to come up the afternoon before and rent several rooms in a hotel with an indoor pool. Can anyone recommend a decent/clean but relatively cheap place to stay that has a pool? We'll be coming from South 75 and anywhere within half an hour to the zoo would be fine. 4 stars and plush towels are not a necessity! Just looking for a place that all of the different families coming can afford so we can all stay together.

I do believe the Holiday Inns all have pools. The closest one to the zoo is this one I think: Holiday Inn Louisville Airport East - Louisville Kentucky Hotels - Hotel-Guides.us or you can try this link: http://groups.hotel-guides.us/

Coming from Southcentral KY
I misspoke in my earlier post... We'll be coming from the South by going North on I-75 to I-64.... The way I phrased it earlier made it sound like we would be coming South on I-75... Sorry about the confusion. I didn't realize the way it sounded until the first reply mentioned LaGrange!!
So, thanks for your responses so far :-) Here's hoping it doesn't storm like is currently predicted!!!

I would recommend staying downtown. You are coming to the city to enjoy city attractions, so why not stay downtown? The zoo is a 10-12 minute drive from downtown.
Residence Inn Louisville Downtown: Spacious suites and amenities for longer stays
The above is an excellent place to stay with a nice indoor pool for kids. I would also recommend taking your kids to some of the museums on main street. Also, from this hotel, you could walk to a Louisville Bats baseball game, which is cheap and family friendly.
Louisville Bats: Home
You could also enjoy the playgrounds at one of America's top ten ranked urban parks.
Welcome to Waterfront Park!

I haven't seen any kid not enjoying themself at the above marked Adventure Playground.
Louisville Kentucky - Home of the Kentucky Derby - Visitors Bureau
If you MUST stay at a suburban hotel outside the city here ya go its the only one with water slides:
Ramada | Shepherdsville Kentucky Hotel | Shepherdsville, KY 40165 | Near Pirates Bay Indoor Waterpark 0 Miles, Siz Flags Kentucky 11 Miles & Holiday World 87 Miles

If you're coming in 64 I would stay off the Blankenbaker Pkwy. exit. It is exit 17. These are some of the hotels that have pools,
Super 8
Super 8 Hotels | Louisville Kentucky Hotel | Louisville, KY 40299
Jameson Inn
Jameson Inn
These are located close enough where you are a 20 minute drive to the zoo, but you are far enough out where there isn't that constant congestion. There is also a cool place called Renaissance Fun Park right down the road in Middletown you all could check out. It has laser tag, go-karts, putt-putt, and an arcade.
