Question moving to louisville

Hope you can help !

We are moving to Louisville (working at GE - appliance Park) and hoping to send our kids to KCD. Are there any neighborhoods within 10 miles of KCD that have a playground and lots of kids, preferably newer homes ?

Any help would be wonderful !!
Thanks

Welcome to Louisville
The Prospect area would be perfect for you, which is along US 42 just northeast of the Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265) and is just 2 exits on the Snyder (about 2 miles) from the KCD exit (US 22/Brownsboro Rd). KCD is literally right next to The Summit, which is a fairly new all outdoor mall (has all the major name stores as well as several restaurants) and is less than a 10 minute drive from Prospect.
Some Prospect subdivisions I'd recommend that fit your quota:
Bridgepointe-off US42 just past the Snyder, built in the late '80's-mid '90's), homes from the mid $300's
Sutherland-off US42 past the main business district of Prospect, about 1.5 miles or so from the Snyder; homes built in mid-late '90's (some may be newer) from the $500's (some absolutely beautiful homes in this neighborhood that overlook 2 lakes, you can see them from 42)
There are also several subdivisions (Green Spring, Wolf Creek and Running Spring) off of Springdale Rd (runs from KY 22 right between the Summit and KCD to Wolf Pen Branch Rd, which connects Springdale to US 42) with homes around 10 years old or so priced from the $300's
Also check out some subdivisions off KY 22 east of the Snyder (I'm not as familiar with this section of that road but I think one is called Glen Oaks?).
Oldham County has many nice areas as well that would fit your quota-notably Hillcrest, which is off US 42 about a mile or so east of the county line (homes less than 10 years old from the $400's-500's)
Most of these neighborhoods have their own clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, etc and largely consist of families with children (quite a few of which go to KCD).
Hope this helps! Let us know if you have more specific questions about these neighborhoods or other areas you may be interested in

Whenever, if not already, you get your real estate license, it would be my wish to have the opportunity to interview you. I love the fresh face you have put on this forum!

I know tom already commended you, but this is one of the most insightful posts I have seen from a new poster here in 3 years of my moderation here. Welcome, and please stick around!
