Hey man, I lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a 3 years and just moved to Miami. I thought that was funny. Yea I grew up in New Albany (Floyd Co) and I wouldnt move there if your not from there. It seems like it would be a hard place to meet new people. My mom was a professor at UofL and I always spent a lot of time in the city as a kid. I remember driving to work at Downtown YMCA (on Chestnut) and it would only take me 15 min to get to work from silver hills (IN), yet I still have relatives that won't "Drive all the way into Louisville," to hang out when I visit. Meanwhile, they will drive 30 min north into Perry county, IN without blinking. I mean, not knocking it too much, its just very different, yet very close. I lived in Old Louisville, and the Highlands and like that much better, the difference in lifestyle is huge and its not that much more expensive. Germantown was cheap, close to Bardstown Rd and getting populated by young students and professionals looking to get a leg up. Its was gentrifying for sure at least in 2006 when I left. The Knoch (sp?) Bar is cool.
Happy Trials.
