Whats different for you with Metro Government?
Louisville and Jefferson County merger....what did this mean for the average Joe in Jefferson County...did anything change for you after the merger in terms of government services?
I am just trying to get a feel on how things have changed on a day to day basis for the average person?

For me in my part of town, nothing really except I have a heck of a time finding out which police department to call because they keep telling me to call someone else. We haven't gained a thing out here in the county which is why I don't believe in the so-called "merger".

If you live in one of the incorporated citys in Jefferson County do you pay taxes to both your city and Louisville Metro?

Oh that is a good one . Of course you pay both taxes. Everyone in Jefferson pays their 'labor tax' of 2.5%.

Right. But say you work in J-Town or St Matthews, which I think also have an occupational tax (at least St Matthews does) do you pay both the county occupational tax AND the city occupational tax tax?
That would be a double whammy.

^ OK, thanks....I recall you mentioned Dover Rd, and I thought that was in Shively. I had relatives living on Dover back in the 1960s...
