Gatewood Galbraith and Dea Riley Announce Run for Gov/Lt. Gov (KY) in 2011
22-Jul-09; 01:25:05 AM
GATEWOOD GALBRAITH AND DEA RILEY ANNOUNCE RUN FOR KENTUCKY GOVERNORSHIP WE MUST START NOW TO WIN THIS ELECTION! On July 4th, Atty. Gatewood Galbraith and Dea Riley announced their intent to run for the Governorship of KENTUCKY.
Once more we have the chance to elect a educated, caring, and motivated citizen who has lived here all of his life and fought continuously for the rights of the people of Kentucky.
He said that this would be his last "run" because he will be retiring from politics after this election if he does not win the vote. He also said we need 400,000 votes to indeed win this election.
His no-nonsense approach to leading the state includes REAL reform of Education,(" Our C and D students deserve the opportunity be trained into employability also"), Health Care, Environment, ("we must insist on reclaiming the land for future use and restoring the hills and streams to their natural state"), and putting the vote to the people as far as the "Casino" issue is concerned.
This man has earned the right to run for the Governor's office. He has worked long and hard for over 20 years on all the issues which affect Kentuckians. He is a very intelligent, motivated and educated man who I believe, given the chance, can restore this state to its own natural beauty both literally and figuratively.
In my lifetime I have yet to see one politician in Kentucky that, in my opinion was not corrupted.
The Cancer rates in Kentucky can be gauged by the zip code that you live in. The corruption and mismanagement of taxes and Federal funding is outrageous. The healthcare makes you sick, literally.
We live in a state full of Coal Ash Ponds which are causing increased illnesses.
The violent crime and dangerous drugs such as Meth and Crack Cocaine are rampant. Yet we continue to keep Cannabis/Hemp illegal.
I will be voting for Gatewood in the election.
I encourage everyone to view Gatewood for Governor - Dea Riley for Lt. Governor - Now's the Time.... and decide for yourself who will give this state its best chance at survival.
Incidentally, Gov. Brashear and Mayor Jerry Abramson of Louisville announced THEIR run for the Governor's office this week. It was all over the news yet I have yet to see a media announcement on the news (on any channel) that is reporting Galbraith and Riley’s campaign. I wonder why that is?
Wow. Do we really have a choice here? What have either one of them done for this state's middle class citizens. Not to mention the ones of us who are now unemployed, underemployed, uninsured, and unappreciated!
PLEASE VIEW THE LETTER OF INTENT LOCATED AT GATEWOOD.COM AND CAN BE VIEWED VIA THIS LINK.

Maybe because Brashear and Abramson have actually won election to office? Maybe because Brashear is the incumbent governor and Abramson is the mayor of the largest city in the state?
Dude, not everything is a media conspiracy!

Just curious why you would say that. My inclination is that no one from Jefferson County will ever be elected Governor because of the strong anti-Louisville bias out in the state. (Despite the fact that Louisville is just about the only thing keeping this state from falling completely to the bottom of the ladder in every measurable economic and education ranking.)
However, if he becomes Lt. Governor, he has two paths to the Governorship: if Bershear dies or resigns, or by spending four years out in the state building up enough support to win on his own in four years. I can see him winning the Democratic nomination in four years and if the GOP goes crazy and nominates someone like Stan Lee, then it could happen.
I don't think so, but a lot crazier things have happened in politics.

Why he might have said this is because the rest of the state (outside of Louisville) may not vote as positvely for Abramson. Outside of Jefferson county, it's not as popular of a ticket to run as a gay, Jewish man.

I think because Abramson was mayor of Louisville, so that is a detriment (recall Harvey Sloans attempt at statewide office years ago). Now, there have been politicians from Jefferson County that have won statewide office (thinking of Marlowe Cook and Mitch McConnell).

Kentuckians are prejudiced against gays, not Jews. Of course it wouldn't be below the evil trash that makes up todays right wing of the GOP to spread an innuendo campaign about Abramson being gay.

I don't think most Louisvillians think of Abramson as being gay (the man is married for heaven's sake) but do think of him as being Jewish. I also think he keeps getting re-elected because Kentuckians (including Louisvillians) don't like change much. As usual, I could be wrong

Heh, that is true....& that applies to politicians from all over. People who get elected usually stay elected.
