I took the time to read the Newcomer thread so here is the answer to those questions in order:

1. Where are you working?
answer: I don't work, my boyfriend works at Steilberg's on Bardstown

2. How long of a commute can I tolerate:
answer: I suppose a 20 min. commute would be acceptable, nothing more though.

3.Private or public shool?
answer: It depends on whether we decide to rent or buy. If we buy then I'd prefer to have either option but have a public school which has a good rating/reputation nearby.

4. Type of neighborhood environments are you looking for?
answer: I would prefer one in which I do not have to battle through mall traffic, where there is a minimum number of strip malls and spas etc, no pretentious college students or yuppies around as well as away from the projects,oo, and keep me away from those hillbillies too, a good park, relatively safe area but with no gated communities, please. I don't want to have to deal with seasonal patrons of festivals or fairs, (things like derby weekend and st.james art fest)etc. But would like some convenience in the way of having a grocery store, natural foods store, pharmacy, library, coffee shop (preferrably not starbucks, but i'll take whatever i can get) near and possibly a mexican, greek, turkish or mid eastern restraurant nearby also.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm thinking behind Bardstown Road near Cherokee Park. Near his work, about 20 minutes from almost anywhere, several ways out so traffic isn't toobad, lots of character, lots of great restaurants.

Around Seneca Park wouldn't be bad either.

You didn't post a budgeted price range. What can you afford? What do you wish to pay? No one can honestly answer your questions without understanding your financial comfort zones.

I'm thinking the area around Wells Park in Chicago. North Lincoln Avenue.

That should fit you to a T.

Welcome to the forum. Let me share some rules of the road. When you are new in a group, there is some etiquette to be had. Would you speak to people in real life like you have in your first two posts on this board? Your first two posts are nothing more than rude. It is very clear that you know next to nothing about Louisville, but have made some gross assumptions in your first two posts.

I believe JeffreyT's response to you was a clue towards that. Change the tone, and I can help you immensely.
