I am going to medical school at the University of Louisville, but my girlfriend is still back in Charlottesville. While the drive is only 7 hours. If I can find a train station within two hours of Louisville I will use that instead so that I can do some work on the train. Anyone know of any train stations close to Louisville, with a pretty direct route to Charlottesville? Thanks

Yes, you are less than 2 hours to Cincinnati. Not sure how Cincinnati connects to Charlottesville, but I know there is a direct train Cincinnati to DC.

Default Cincy to Charlottesville, VA

I looked on Amtrak's website (I'm also someone who would love to take the train if at all possible) for the trip from Cincinnati to Charlottesville. Doesn't look good. An 11-hour trip from Cincy to Charlottesville and the train leaves at 3:29AM. Plus it costs $111 (one way) during the week.

Honestly, I love trains and hate to drive. But when I go to DC, they make it almost impossible to use Amtrack. Almost every train east from Cincy leaves around 3 in the morning.
