Indeed. It is hard for me to prove, but I think we have been seeing reincarnations of trolls I have banned in the past. More on this later.....

Kentuckians have a major complex in dealing with people. Its the fake friendliness concept all with the whole you're not from around here attitude. Kentuckians have a problem largely dealing with the facts or the truth. They generally have such limited world experience that they cannot deal with reality and what goes on in the outside world. When you've only lived in one place most of your life, you tend to have a limited worldview. I have known people from both southern Indiana and Kentucky that have never left either state. They don't even make a trip to say Indianapolis 100 miles away or Cincy 100 miles away. That's not the case with all of them but I've seen a significant group that are that way.

Also, In Kentucky people expect you to earn your stripes with them. Being truly friendly is outside of their own boundaries. You'll find friendlier people in the deep South than ever in Kentucky. Same for Midwest of Iowa, MO, KS, IL, IN, etc. There is a certain expectation in KY that everything else revolved around the state. As if nothing from the outside ever really mattered. Its a small minded culture in the most definitive sense. Small minds generally get offended by people that actually have something critical to say about their place. I call it Hypersensitive. If anyone says anything bad about KY, you can wait and there will be a 100 people shouting you down because you made a comment about something you observed. I've never seen anything like it in my life. Most places you'll get the standard response and thats about it. Here they have to try to sell you why its a great place to live. Not that it really is all that great. You can find superior restaurants in a lot of different places especially any semi urban area in the USA. Even chain restaurants have just as good or better food than what you find here. Don't let them fool you with their great restaurants. I've been there and most of them are either overrated or just hype. Either way, don't let them fool you.

Kentucky has a circle the wagons mentality. They can't handle constructive criticism about how poorly educated their brethren are or how run down and trashy many areas are. One would expect this out of a urban inner city ghetto but in KY, its also in the countryside. Overall, Louisville is one of the most run down cities in the Midwest and Upper South.

I've made 10 trips to regional cities this year including Cincy, Indy, Nashville, Knoxville, St. Louis. Even Louisville's outer suburbs away from the East End are pretty nasty and a lot of trashy areas. You can just tell the difference. The far Northside of Indy, Louisville's urban competitor is much nicer than the East End. Most Kentuckians and Louisvillians can't handle that fact that there are places nicer than Louisville and when it doesn't meet to the outsiders expectations, then the get the bleep out mentality ensues. I've been to most of the main cities of this region all way south to New Orleans and west to KC and north to Chicago and east to Richmond VA. I have to say that Louisville, KY is one of the worst overall cities both economically and socially.

There is no sense of pride in Kentuckiana. They throw their garbage on the roadsides all over the interstates and it gets left. The same for the 1000 cigarette butts at KY 61 and the Outer Loop. Or the run down areas up and down Dixie Hwy. Which extends all the way up to the heart of the city. People in Louisville don't care and it shows. Even Indianapolis and its northside neighborhoods have cleaner streets than the East End. People who have class and some pride. Which is something seriously lacking in Kentuckiana.

The amusing part of this is the almost childish dependence on religion that exists in Kentucky. Spirituality is a good thing, a relationship with God is important in this writers view. However, In KY its not the relationship with God, its not belief and then practicing what one preaches. Its a culture of corruption and hiding behind religion to make one feel better. Meanwhile, they pop out generations of kids out of wedlock while knowing better. It goes on everywhere but nowhere as hypocritically as KY. Its issues with drugs which permeate the Louisville area as well as rural KY. Its all the talk about God and God and then again God but then stabbing your neighbor in the back while hiding behind religion. I've found that non religious people in many cases have better character and ethics than those who talk about their religion. I've found that the truth is the truth no matter what religion one has or even if they dont. I

Its in the culture that somehow one can talk about God and its all ok. Just as long as you wear it on your sleeve. Wear it on your sleeve and God will forgive you. That is their religion. I grew up in the Midwest where religious or not, most people were taught the true Christian precepts of telling the truth, admitting your mistakes, and taking responsibility for your actions. Kentucky is a state that talks about religion yet has some of the worst drug problems and health issues of any state. Its the whole hypocrisy of what goes on in Kentucky where everyone talks about Jesus yet continues being involved with drugs, being drunk, and not practicing what they preach. Total hypocrisy.

I know this is going to bring up flames and angry comments but it just shows that instead of refuting my comments they will show their true colors. Its in their blood and heritage. Because they have so much to defend that it makes their positions indefensible.

Stx, nice. so now we ban people that have comments that you don't like. Sounds like censorship rather than moderating anything. I hope you ban me. I might be afraid of the city data police running out of their trailer parks and rundown shotgun houses in Louisville after me. Even my wife likes Indy and other places well. Much more than the so called city of Louisville. Guess what, shes even from Louisville area and she sees what I'm pointing out. Its just that Louisvillians are delusional when it comes to most things. Deluded about the whole aura of having two basketball programs in the top 25 while the state is in the bottom 5 in education or other socioecnomic factors.

Most Louisvillians can't deal with the fact that their mayor for life has left the city in such a mess that its broke and the basic infrastructure is collapsing. Or the fact that the Sewer District is 2 billion dollars in the hole. Or that half the city floods and its pushed off onto the people. Or how somehow the black folks think its a conspiracy. Its easier to blame those people than actually do anything to fix the city. Things such as this is why I say that Kentuckians especially Louisville residents have a complex and there is something in the water that makes them ignorant of their surroundings.

Colonel I don't understand for the life of me why someone who hates a place so bad would stay. Is there no where else you can go that would make you happier? Obviously you are miserable here.

After going through and reading your other posts, all I can say is you should get some professional help before it's too late. You have way too much anger towards Louisville and/or Kentucky. There are people who can help you with your problem.

I grew up in the Louisville area... been in South Texas for 30 years now. Based on climate only, I think you might want to cross Austin off your list. Summer is awfully hot, awfully humid, and 8 months long.

Keep pushing the envelope sir. I agree with others. Your posts border on delusional. Please get some help. I actually live in Florida right now, and sorely miss the Midwest, especially Chicago and Louisville. Only about 5% of what you say has any validity. Carry on friends. In case you have not noticed, most people ignore your negative tirades colonel!

To the OP, I apologize for the trollish behavior. Negative and dissenting opinions are encouraged if that is the way you feel, but when your posts become trolling, change subjects, take over threads, bring up years old threads to troll, etc, well, you get the idea....
