Default Gang activity in Louisville

I am working on a project regarding gang activity in the Louisville area. If you have any info, reports, data, etc., please let me know.

I am also looking to interview folks who have some knowledge or first-hand experience with Louisville gangs-- this includes law enforcement officers, former/current gang members, families of gang members, teachers, community and neighborhood leaders, social workers, etc.

What I do know/have heard:

Shepard's Square was a "Bloods" neighborhood 10 years ago, don't know about now. Don't know of a specific set either.

I have heard that there is a "MS13" gang out in Okolona/Preston Highway area but I have never seen them and don't know how true it is.

Have you tried contacting Louisville Metro Police Department? My brother was a Police Officer with one of the outlying departments in Louisville. He mentioned to me that LMPD did have a gang detail. I don't know if they can or will help you but can probably point you in the right direction.
