Question Airport Near Jeffersontown, Ky

Good Evening -
I am a pilot in Traverse City, MI and will be flying my personal plane to a chemical facility near Jeffersontown, KY and would like any information possible about the nearest strip (sod/dirt/paved) as close as possible to the city. Any information that can be sent to me would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Closest one I know of (for general aviation) will be Bowman field in Louisville. Don't think you'll want to be landing over with the Jets at the International one. Here are the specs.

Aircraft operations (take offs and landings) totaled 104,814 in 2005.
Weight Limit: 30,000 lbs.

The airport consists of 2 runways. Runway lengths are as follows:

Runway 6-24
Threshold to threshold is 3200 feet
End of pavement to end of pavement is 4356.9 feet
Displacement on runway 6 threshold is 847 feet
Displacement on runway 24 is 309 feet.

Runway 14-32
Threshold to threshold is 3032 feet
End of pavement to end of pavement is 3579 feet
Displacement on runway 14 is 206 feet
Displacement on runway 32 is 341 feet.

This field is probably 20 minutes away from Jeffersontown (depends on traffic)

I agree Bowman Field would be the best choice. You couldn't get a better landing location. Bowman sits right off Taylorsville Road, which is the "Main Street" of J'town. Head south on Taylorsville Road and it will take you right into J'town. Good luck!
