Louisville's WHAS radio personality Francene Cucinello dies | courier-journal.com | The Courier-Journal

She was only 43 and was the most popular talk show host in the state per ratings. So far the only info is she was taken to the ER at Norton Audubon Hospital on Monday after suffering a heart attack. She had an aneurysm on Wednesday and died earlier today (Friday) at Norton Downtown Hospital.

Thoughts?

Wow;sorry to hear that. I should be ashamed...I heard her once then forgot about her when I went back to WAKY & whatever 107.7's call letters are. I was impressed with her...

I was surprised and sad upon reading about Francene's death in the Courier-Journal last Saturday morning, like many were. On Thursday morning I heard her substitute, but I had no idea that she went to the hospital. ): It's amazing how quickly someone can leave...I remember when I heard her show for the first time back when I moved to Louisville two years ago--just hearing a woman's voice on talk radio was delightful enough, but then I was hooked once I heard how much her opinions reflected mine, how tough and thourough she interviewed her varied guests, and how much time she devoted discussing local news topics while including state and national contraversies. I took for granted that every time I turned on the radio between 9 and 12 that I wouldn't have to scan through the stations to find something worthwhile and interesting...Well I cannot say enough. My most memorable Francene show segments/moments/topics were calling awareness to Roxanna Saberi's imprisonment in Iran, the job line every Friday at 10 (which inspired other radio stations to do the same!), and telling her listeners to "cowboy up" during the wind storm aftermath (and not holding back when listening to people whine that they didn't get their power restored soon enough while thousands were still without). Thank you!!! No one can replace Francene but I hope the host who takes over her time slot will give us something worth listening to.
