We will be moving to the area and I am currently certified in K-12 Special Ed Learning Disabilities and K-12 Special Ed Physical Impairment for the state of Florida.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me if my certificate transfers to KY or what I would have to do to get certified in KY. Whether there are jobs available--i.e. would it be worth going through the recertification in KY?

Thanks for any help

T, the Kentucky Dept of Education has a jobs website for "Certified" personnel throughout the state. JCPS is an outstanding place for special education teachers. My former wife is an early childhood specialist with JCPS and I can recommend JCPS because of her tenure.

Thanks :-) I did find the Dep of Ed website and read through the info briefly. It appears that I might not have to 'retest' as I have a current ceritificate and have 4 years of experience.
You guys are definitely ahead of Florida--requiring teachers to have a Master's! Luckily, my teaching program at Univ. of Florida required your getting a M.Ed.
