Here's a young fellow who plays with Johnny and Jill Mulhair of Clovis, NM. I'm not sure where his hometown is.

I thought someone had mentioned this fellow but I guess not.

Blues artist and Lubbock native P.J. Belly, whose was born Robert Gamble, was born April 16, 1949 and died at Las Vegas, Nevada on October 1, 1999. P.J. was one of the founders of the Clovis (NM) Music Festival and owner of the rhythm n blues bar in Lubbock called P.J. Belly's.

The only video I could find of P.J.'s:

80's/90's maybe?? I think it was on 50th and Q, maybe in that center right behind the Carrow's? I know I went in a bar there a time or two and watched some live blues, but can't remember for sure if it was Belly's or not.

I didn't remember that bar either but I think you're right about the location. I read that somewhere while I was reading about PJ musical career.

Woody Guthrie attended high school in Pampa, 145 miles from Lubbock as the crow flies. He also purchased his first guitar there.

I like that video by Kevin Fowler.

This thread looks rich for exploring; thanks, High Plains, for starting it.
