Hi, everyone! Many of you in Lubbock and the South Plains might have some memories of when you watched television in this area through the years. Perhaps there was a particular show or a host or a news reporter that was a favorite of yours. Maybe you remember something that you looked forward to each week that you couldn't wait to watch. Oh, yeah, there were shows on the networks, but back in another day, the local TV stations had programming during the off-network hours that you couldn't get anywhere else. And those might be the shows that you remember. Or, maybe it was some funny promotional ad on a local station that caught your attention. There might have even been a local movie or show theme that was memorable. And you might even have a favorite to this very day that you still watch.

Let's gather around now and tell everyone what your favorite Lubbock TV station or stations were, why you watched them, what you watched on them, and so forth. I'll also include a poll with the stations in the market that mattered to you at some point, and I'll give you a multiple choice for your picks.

So, let 'er rip! Let's hear from you, West Texans.

Hi Case.

One would think I listen to Lubbock radio a lot since the old AM/FM/Cassette radio in my '97 F150 is broken and won't turn off. However, I'm not much of a radio guy anymore and, the fact that I drive little these days, I'm not even real familiar with the local radio stations.

I guess some stations I have mostly listened to whenever I'm in and around Lubbock would include:

1. KLLL - FM
2. KJDL - FM (Red Dirt Rebel)

Odd that we are talking about Lubbock radio stations. Just this week I met the owner and operator of KJDL. We had the opportunity to speak at length but not so much about radio broadcasting but instead about his beautiful 1978 460-V8 Ford F150. I think he owns several Lubbock radio stations. A very nice fellow indeed.

Unfortunately, HPR, that's not the topic of this thread. I'm talking about Lubbock television stations.

Dumb me. And to make matters worse, I read your post twice and didn't catch that. I did wonder why neither of the radio stations I had mentioned was in your list.

These days its a race between my mind and my eyesight to see which will go first.

As Emily Litella might say, "Nevermind."

As a visitor to the city, I like all the network stations, but I tend to gravitate to 13 and 28 for news.

Case. I'm not ignoring your question. I just don't receive any of the local television channels so I'm unfamiliar with them.
