Just wondering why Lubbock doesn't have a zoo? It seems like aboutb 16+ years they were trying to raise money to build one I would love to see one built here .

I'd love to see one, too, but it's highly unlikely. The best location, if they ever decided to do something like that, could be at MacKenzie Park between Parkway Drive and Broadway. It'd be near the Fairgrounds and the Amphitheatre, so it could be a suitable and sizable enough location for them. As to why they don't, well, I can't really answer that question. They just haven't done that.

I also think it would be cool. Plans to build an aquarium were recently released, which may be very cool.

There are several smaller cities that have a zoo, it's just ashamed we don't have one. Case44, I nominate you to head up a committee that get's us a zoo!

Actually, such a project has been considered as recently as 2004, but nothing's materialized, of course. And it's in the area that I've speculated on, too.
