According to a very reliable poster on another site, an eyesore and a somewhat dated motel near Jones AT&T Stadium are set to be razed soon. There have been many complaints about the first one over the years, and the location only magnified the notoriety of the place.

Well, that's great, shoe. Once that deed is done, it will be interesting to see what city developers plan to do with the site.

Based on a drawing that the poster put up on the other site, restaurants and maybe shops could be going in there (just a guess).

Here's a street view look at the Stadium Motel. If you go from that vantage point and pan around 360 degrees, you can get an idea of why people wanted it gone. The Days Inn is around the corner, fronting the freeway. The resulting land area is a parcel that wraps around the gas station (which apparently will be kept).

A wise thing to do would be a potential shop and restaurant site. They've already got hotels on Avenue Q and on the Marsha Sharp Freeway near Quaker, so a shop site would make more sense. Besides, Ruby Tequila's is next door, and that's one of my favorites.

This should help replace the rooms that were lost within walking distance of Tech (with better ones):

It's on the south side of MSF between Tech and Downtown. Can see the big parking garage across from Jones Stadium on the right edge of the pic, next to the billboard.
