Do you think this new performing arts center will be drawing acts that would not normally have performed in Lubbock in the past? I noticed that salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa is scheduled to perform there in the fall. Is that someone who would normally have played Lubbock in the past? I have never heard of him playing in Albuquerque (or even the casinos nearby), but it's possible I just missed it.

But anyway, the general question is whether this center is likely to draw performers who might not have otherwise appeared in Lubbock.

Once acts are back to normal booking, there will be several shows a week, many of which would not have come to Lubbock, without such a facility. Broadway touring shows quit performing at the old auditorium because it was no longer a viable venue. Thankfully it and the old coliseum have been demolished.

When comedian Steve Trevino performed, the first show sold out and a second was added. He was blown away by the facility and said he'd like to come back and film a TV special that is in the works.
