There are many different ideas of Middle GA, but most would generally call it north/south: Monroe County (Forsyth) to Dooly County (Unadilla/Vienna), east/west: Hancock (Sparta) to Laurens County (Dublin) over to about Upson (Thomaston) and Macon Counties.

Basically the 478 Area Code without the eastern "tongue".

NANPA : Number Resources - NPA (Area) Codes

Just my opinion of course.

Judging whether you would or wouldnt move somewhere based only off what people on CD says, is like asking a blind person which color shirt looks best on you.

Great analogy. Personally, I would rather wear a yellow with pink polka dots shirt than die in a night club. But that is just me.....

What exactly are you trying to prove by posting that??? My comment to the user (or anybody in general) is that they should personally go and check out things for themselves before actually believing the extremist, biased statements some people make about places on a website. Is that not a good idea? That makes sense to me.

As much as you may hate this, If a person avoids certain places at certain times of night (like any other of Macon's peers), they can live in Macon-Bibb County in one of the many available safe communities and go about their daily routine without feeling threaten or without being a victim of a crime. A murder at a club in South Macon doesnt change that.

There are two sides to a story. Just like you can post that article about a murder at a club in a not so pleasant part of Macon, I can mention that I live in a neighborhood where a group of elderly women feel safe enough to walk the streets getting their exercise in, even just before sunrise.

Well, King _9.5, I did not talk my daughter out of going clubbing in Monroe County that Saturday evening. I did, however, talk her out of going to Whiskey River. I told her it was a rough area, nothing like she was used to up in Knoxville. I lived (and clubbed) there for five years and felt completely justified in saying such. Instead of celebrating her birthday in a club where someone got murdered in she hung out with some friends and lived to tell about it. True story, and the only reason I even posted on here in probably a year or so. As a young adult she did not have to listen to her dad. Even you have to admit (perhaps just this one time) that this time I made the right call.

Bulldawgfan, I'm not sure if you even read all the articles and comments relating to that story, but apparently (according to the comments) 2 middle aged guys got into a very short-lasting fist fight, and I guess one wasnt in the best health and he died as a result. Someone on the comments even mentioned the fatal blow could have come from the bouncers tossing the guy out of the club and his head hit the pavement.

As unfortunate as that ended, It was basically 2 guys throwing a few punches and the bouncers tossed them out.

Considering Knoxville is home to a major university and in Appalachia, If you're telling me that late into the AM, two "tough guys" getting into a drunken fight hardly ever occurs in Knoxville or really anywhere else, I'd find that hard to believe.

No, I dont see anything wrong with you encouraging your kid to stay away from that particular area late at night, but the events that took place could have happened anywhere.
