My family and I will be moving to Macon later this month in the middle of my pregnancy. I have been searching for a good doctor, but have had a lot of trouble finding information about specific doctors. Since we don't know anyone in Macon with children, I haven't been able to get any recommendations. We will be living in Macon and I think I would like to deliver at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Try John J. Barnes M.D. He is in practice with Schuessler, Pope, Kehl, Barnes, & Durso. They are all good docs and although Barnes is my ob/gyn, Kehl delivered my son and Durso delivered my daughter. They are a great group to be with.
I drove from Byron (south of Macon) to use them versus driving to Warner Robins which is actually closer...
Women's Specialty Care - Slocumb, Evans, Harper, and others.
Dr. Slocumb delivered both our kids. My wife has seen them (Dr. Evans) for over 10 years and has been very happy. Good level of concern if issues arise.
The Medical Center of Central Georgia is a greta place to deliver a baby, its one of the best Health Facilities in North America, John J. Barnes M.D., is a greta doctor, and should take great care of you, also im not sure if the Hutchings family doctors, deliver babies, but those are a great group of young men, there family has made great contributions to the city as well. But if the Hutchings do not deliver babies I would go with Barnes, he is a great doctor as well. Also good luck, im sure youll enjoy Macon, if you need help with anything else feel free to ask me.
Dr. Carlton with Women's Specialty Care is super!!! Not only is he wonderful but the office staff is terrific. That is so important, they always make you feel like you are the only pregnant woman even though they see many. Dr. Carlton delivered both my children 10 months apart HAHA!!! Yes they are really 10 months apart and so cute! The Medical Center did a fine job!
At Women's Specialty Care do they have you meet with all of the doctors or just your doctor? What are the chances of your own doctor being there for your delivery?
At Women's Specialty Care they do rotate through the doctors BUT I know Dr. Carlton always tries to deliver his own patients babies. All the doctors are superb and very helpful. I just think the office/nurse staff is superior!
