I've been thinking, what impact do ya'll think Gieco would have on DT Macon if they moved some of their offices down there? I think it would be a great boost in the arm for the central city. My idea would have them take office space in the proposed Renaissance on the River mixed use development.

So much potential there. So few Georgians seem to realize that Macon has the largest historic district in the state...larger than Savannah's.

I was thinking the same thing; What needs to be done to just really cause an explosion of growth Downtown. I think if Macon can get a group of Developer to build a Mixed used develop something similar Atlantic Station but on a smaller scale which would include maybe a Movie theater, Some big named retailers and etc it would cause the same effect on Downtown as Brass pro did in North Macon/Bibb county.... Once Bass pro Build its Store and DC out there it just seem all at once everyone want to build in North Macon/Bibb county .... I think once the Renaissance on the River mixed use development is complete; its going to have the same affect on DT Macon.

@ LovinDecatur Macon does have a lot of potential which I believe has been hinder for years; Now since Consolidation has passed I think it will give Macon an opportunity to Capitalize on that potential.

I didn't know they had the largest historic district in the state. They definitely should capitalize on that. Could be a moneymaker for the city to have historic district tours.
